We are all greatly appreciative of your continued prayers and support. We have been thankful to make it through another week with no positives or presumptive for COVID-19. Thanks to those of you who have provided an email address! If you know someone who has not but would like to get updates, please have them do so at their soonest convenience. It will make communication quicker when we send out weekly updates and other information as the need arises. Zoom meetings are going very well. We have had several family members do so, and we hope that you have found this to be an easy process. Recently Lakeside was blessed to receive two Chromebook laptops and 1 Chromebook tablet, which has allowed us to accommodate all the meetings that are being scheduled. Although the donors wish to remain anonymous, I still would like to extend a big THANK YOU for your generosity!
I am aware that Governor Kim Reynolds is allowing certain businesses to open with social distancing restrictions being applied. Iowa Department of Pubic Health guidelines still have not changed for nursing homes and so we will continue to only allow essential workers into the facility. At this point in time, we are unaware when these restrictions will start to ease. Nursing homes continue to be extremely susceptible to the COVID virus, and we are doing everything we can to keep the virus out of our facility. With this said, we are still requiring the practice of social distancing with your loved ones here at Lakeside. We know this is hard so we sincerely THANK YOU!
Lakeside just competed a two-day Quality Assurance survey with the Iowa Department of Inspections and Appeals. During this survey, the surveyors looked through the facility COVID-19 Emergency Preparedness Manual, reviewed policy and procedures in relation to COVID-19, as well as interviewed both residents and staff. There were no concerns identified.
Please know and trust that Lakeside has processes in place to notify you in the event of a positive COVID in our facility. We are keeping you all in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time as well!
