We had a great turnout for Lakeside's Annual Classic Car Show! A total of 15 cars participated, and both the public and our residents had a wonderful time viewing all of the vehicles.
We served hamburgers and hot dogs, and the event was so busy that we completely ran out of hamburgers!
We would like to extend our sincere thanks to our sponsors who helped make this event such a great success: Fareway, Hy-Vee, A&W, Auxiliary for the baked goods, Culligan, the Lakeside staff, and our Board Members.
We also want to thank everyone who brought their cars out to share with us. Your participation helped make the day special for everyone.
We look forward to seeing you all again next year!
We have had some changes in the Activities Department the month of June.
Katie has accepted a new role at another organization. While we are sad to see her leave her position in Activities, we are happy to share that she will remain with us on a PRN basis and will continue to help on the floor and in activities when needed.
We would like to sincerely thank Katie for her dedication, hard work, and the positive impact she made in the Activities Department and in the lives of our residents. She consistently went above and beyond our expectations and her compassion and commitment will be truly missed. We wish her all the best in her new role.
We would also like to extend a warm welcome to Jill Hoch, our new Activities Director. Jill is a National Certified Activity Director and has six years of experience in the position. She is excited to step into this role and looks forward to enhancing the Activities Department at Lakeside by sharing her knowledge, experience, and enthusiasm with our residents and staff.
If you see Jill in the building, please take a moment to stop by, introduce yourself, and welcome her to the team!
We also want to extend a warm invitation to our community members interested in volunteering - your support makes a meaningful difference! Please reach out to Jill Hoch, our Activities Director @ 712-852-4060.
Resident of the Month: Gary Bordwell
Employee of the Month:
Congratulations to Aubrey Knowles.
We are incredibly grateful to have Aubrey as part of the Lakeside family. she has been with us for one year and has made a positive impact on both our residents and staff.
When residents were asked why they chose Aubrey, they shared that she is always willing to help and that they appreciate the smile she brings with her every day. Her kindness, compassion, and dedication do not go unnoticed.
In her free time, Aubrey enjoys spending time outdoors. After completing college, she hopes to become a surgical technologist and travel. She loves coming to work, caring for residents, and helping meet their daily needs. Her genuine concern for others and positive attitude makes her a valued member of our team.
Aubrey's hard work, caring spirit, and lasting impression on our residents and staff are just a few of the reasons we are so fortunate to have her at Lakeside.
Thank you, Aubry, for all that you do! Congratulations on being named our July Employee of the Month.
